This is a story about a girl named Melissa, she grew up without her mother. Her mother was a troubled woman who spent most of her life in jail. No matter what, she succeeded with so little to improve her life and she learned how to do better than her mom. She is 21-years-old, and she is in the Marines.
The oldest of three siblings, Melissa was not able to live with her brothers J.J and Christian. They were raised in different foster care homes. They haven’t seen each other for almost 6 years.
With the information that her mother lately tested positive for meth use, her purpose is to get full custody of her brothers. I know, it sounds impossible.
Melissa is aware that it’s maybe too much, she is too young, she is not financially stable and that staying with their foster parents are better for them. Yet, she determined to start on 2,000 mile ride to Alabama to plead in front of a judge and bring her brothers home. Prank It FWD decided to pay for Melissa’s gas, rent for one month, and provide them with basic products.
She accomplished her dream and goal, she is ready to take care of her brothers no matter what. The judge approved her plead and they are free to go home to her sister. But, there’s more, Melissa also received a gift – a brand new Toyota to drive her brothers around. When they arrived home, they were surprised and with tears in her eyes, but the happy ones, they are hoping for better future and she is willing to work for it.
