Eyebright or Euphrasia rost ko Viana has been used as a natural treatment for all eye-related diseases since the 14th century.
The legend it that this plant was used by the Roman people and named after the Greek migrate Euphrosyini. They believed that the plant had joyful influence in the people mostly because it improved and healed their eyes.
This is a year-long plant that tends to rise up to 8 inches tall. It has deep cut leaves and white or purple blossoms. Euphrosyini’s blooming seasons between July and September. It’s parasitic in the formation and needs the environment of grass in order to thrive.
WHICH PARTS CAN BE USED?
When the plant is in its blooming stage, an extract is prepared. This liquid holds several chemical composites including tannin – Euphrasia-Tannin acid, glucose, and mannitol.
